Christina Aguilera performs the National Anthem before Super Bowl XLV between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers in Arlington, Texas, on Sunday. When she was supposed to sing the line 'O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming,' she instead repeated an earlier line, with a slight variation. (Jeff Haynes/Reuters)

From a public relations point of view, do you think that Christina Aguilera handled the "mess up" of the National Anthem. Why or why not?

I think that she could of handled it a little better. She later made the comment "That was definitely life's most embarrassing moment", but I feel like she should of said and done more. An example of something she could of done was appear on a morning show and resang it to make it up to her fans and others that tuned in to watch.

I think that she handed it well because she admitted guilt right away. She know she screwed up and put all the blame on herself and didn't make excuses. It is refreshing to see a person not blame anything but themselves. She has done the anthem hundreds of times and she happened to screw it up on the biggest stage. She also did go on singing like there was nothing wrong and was hard to pick up on unless you really were paying attention.

It is no secret that the National Anthem is a hard song to sing even for a professional. but mainly for hitting the notes not remembering the words. Christina Aguilera says that she messed up the words at the super bowl because she was caught up in the moment. However, she had previously performed at the super bowl in 2000 at half time and has performed in front of hundreds for years now. I feel like she simply wasn't thinking and just forgot the words. In her defense many Americans did not know the words to the National Anthem when they were asked to sing them on a local radio station on Monday, the day after the super bowl.

As a performer, you should be used to pressure, but I will admit that there may be no greater pressure than performing the National Anthem before the Super Bowl. That's big time. And as much as I love Christina Aguilera, she messed this one up big time. Firstly, her performance was just awful. Secondly, she screwed up the lyrics. That's embarrassing. But, she admitted her screw up and I can at least forgive her of that. I mean, at least she didn't throw three interceptions in a Super Bowl! (cough, Ben Roethlisberger, cough)
